Rappelling is definitely for the "Thrill Seekers" out for an afternoon dose of adrenalin rush.
Our adventure seekers will trek 20 minutes from The Hotel through Primary Rainforest on our property, until they reach the edge of a sheer limestone cliff that drops over 150 feet straight down to the river at the mouth of the third tunnel where visitors tube through. The view of the surrounding mountain tops, lush jungle, and the river running over and around the rocks below as seen from the starting point of the rappelling experience is breathtaking, and definitely camera worthy. Reminiscent to something from "Gorillas in the mist." Don't forget to have photos taken of you dropping down the side of the cliff. It's an attention getter you'll want to share with your friends at home, and people tubing generally stop to watch with awe as you lower yourself down this incredible cliff. One controls their own speed with the help of an Anthron, however, you are doubly safe, as you are always "On Belay" with your guides both at the top and bottom of the cliff. Helmets and gear are provided.
Any type of sports clothing is fine to wear, but sturdy shoes, sneakers or Tivas are preferred. No flip flops. Approximate time for this excursion from the Hotel and back is1 and1/2 to 2and 1/2 hours depending upon the amount of people in the group.
